Hands-on construction tools
Levels, drills, layouts, safety, and the shop habits used on real jobs — not a toy version of a trade.

A community workforce technology proposal
“Make Tech Work For You”
Teach construction to youth and STEM to ages 8–12. Bridge the gap: hands-on tools and the software the pros use.
WISE Corp · in joint venture with Seed Life Foundation, Inc.
Mission
Too many programs pick a lane: shop class without the software, or coding without a hammer. Gifted Vision runs both in one facility. Students learn the trades with real tools, then run the job the way a superintendent does — project management, budget tracking, budget management, building a schedule, and critical thinking.
Younger learners, ages 8–12, come in through junior STEM: Jr Robotics and LEGO. Youth 16–24 grow with construction and PM as the facility grows. Long range, we are helping Seed Life Foundation expand toward a building for 500 youth ages 16–24 plus a training facility.

Curriculum
Hands-on tools and the software the pros use — in the same six weeks.
Levels, drills, layouts, safety, and the shop habits used on real jobs — not a toy version of a trade.
Same discipline as the field: scopes, owners, status, and a live plan the crew can follow.
Estimate, track, and defend a number. Students see what overruns look like before they hit a jobsite.
Sequence the work. Hit dates. Understand what happens when one trade slips.
Builder track and junior STEM both use robotics to make logic visible — sensors, motion, and iteration.
Ship a small app. Builder-track students leave with a portfolio artifact, not just a login tutorial.
Read the drawing. Question the plan. Choose a next step. That is the skill that transfers off site.

Cross-training
Students train across related fields so they can work in similar jobs, not only one trade. Artist and Builder stay as the two tracks. Inside the shop they still stack adjacent skills.
Concrete example: an electrician can mentor others and also learn circuit boards and low voltage — so the same student can wire a panel, teach a peer, and read a board.
The facility
One building, two tracks. Hands-on construction on one wall, laptops and design on the other, maker tools in the Resource Hub.

How it runs
Current cohort, current price, current partners. Construction hands-on plus the PM software the pros use, with a junior STEM path for ages 8–12. Students also cross-train across related fields so they can work similar jobs, not only one trade.

What every learner leaves with

Junior STEM · ages 8–12
A junior path in the same facility. Younger students build, program, and problem-solve without being pushed into an adult trades cohort.
Youth 16–24
Older youth train on tools and project controls while the facility scales. The long-range aim is a home for 500 youth ages 16–24 and a dedicated training facility with Seed Life.
The venture
A joint venture: an operating company that builds and teaches, and a 501(c)(3) with community reach. This is not a church program.
Operating partner
Nonprofit partner · 501(c)(3)

Why a joint venture
Pairs a nonprofit's grant eligibility and community access with an operating company's equipment, instructors, and delivery discipline.
Community-service hours can be completed at a church site. The program itself is not a church program, and the church is not the brand. Governance, fiscal sponsorship, and cost-allocation terms between the parties will be documented before any award is accepted.
